Student / Early Career Scientists Networking Session

 

This session is planned for Wednesday.

 

To assist with planning, please indicate if you would like to attend.  There will be no additional cost to attend.

This is an opportunity for students to get together in an informal setting, with mentors and future employers to discuss the industry.

Further details will be available on the conference website, once confirmed.

 

PDP Student / Early Career Networking Session

This function will be informal and attendees should be students or early career scientists (up to approx 5 yrs out of uni)

Trips will be planned to include a drop off at the Blenheim airport.

If you would like to purchase extra, guest tickets for a field trip please email tracy@on-cue.co.nz 
Both Field Trips are on the same day, so please select one of the following options.

Wairau Plains Gravel Bed Rivers Fieldtrip

Following the path of the mighty Wairau River downstream, you will learn how the Wairau River and aquifer interact. The Wairau has been one of the case studies for the Gravel Bed Rivers Project, which concluded this year after 4 years of research. Learn from researchers and local experts about how flood protection and gravel supply impact aquifer recharge processes in the Wairau. The Wairau Plains trip will have an optional airport drop-off at 3:30 pm, and conclude back at the Marlborough Events Centre.

Te Hoiere Catchment Restoration Fieldtrip

Join us on a trip through the beautiful Te Hoiere/Pelorus catchment, where we will make a number of stops to learn about both hydrological studies and restoration activities taking place in the catchment. On the way back to Blenheim, we’ll swing by a winery - it wouldn’t be a trip to Marlborough without a wine tasting! Planned arrival time at the airport is 3:30 pm after which the trip will conclude back at the Marlborough Events Centre.
